I debated for all of about 5 minutes after finishing Bright Side on whether or not to read Gus. Bright Side totally stands on it’s own and Gus isn’t a have to read follow-up…but I just had to know…what happens to Gus. How does he ultimately deal with losing Bright Side? What path does his life end up taking? Yeh, I couldn’t NOT read Gus after the impact Bright Side left on me. It was essential…and I’m so glad I did. It was EPIC! 🙂 I loved getting to know Gus better and well let’s just say…for a while I was really concerned about where Gus was headed and if he would be able to recover or was destined for destruction.

I loved this book. I loved how Kim tied in characters from Bright Side. She intertwined the books beautifully and it all worked! Sometimes you get those books about one of the main characters and it just doesn’t work…the connection isn’t there or the story just doesn’t work. This works, Gus works…the story is fantastic. If you loved Bright Side, read Gus! And if you haven’t read Bright Side…see my review, it’s awesome. I love both of these books and am so glad I stumbled across them both. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
